Giving Tuesday and Beyond!
For 60 years, the Washington Literacy Center has been helping learners and their families thrive. We started in a church basement with the goal of helping adults struggling to read.
As a small nonprofit, we have existed through the best and worst times, through 12 US presidents, civil rights marches, multiple wars, and periods of social, economic, political, and global unrest. We have changed the lives of thousands of adults and their families, and we continue to help more than 200 adults yearly to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Our motto, "Where Lives Change," speaks to our commitment to meeting adult learners where they are and providing the skills they need to be self-sufficient. With your Giving Tuesday contribution and continued support, we can make a difference and impact future generations together.
