IN OTHER WORDS.

Maria Ibanez

Donor

I have followed the work of WLC for many years and have been impressed at how deeply the organization transforms the lives of so many people. WLC continues to make a big difference through the hands-on literacy learning and teaching of skills that will last a lifetime. Collectively, we must work together to elevate and support the mission of WLC. It's not just about helping adult learners. It's about making a more meaningful difference to empower the students, and uplift them through education, skills-building, job training, and computer literacy so they are prepared to get a job, get a better job, or continue their education. It is rewarding to be a part of their learning journey, achievements, and success.

I am of the belief that if I am fortunate enough and have a little bit of power to help others, then I do. It's been part of my DNA since childhood to give back when there is an opportunity to do so. I have been a member of WLC's advisory committee for four years. Throughout that time, I have had the opportunity to not just donate but to give time to volunteer at several events and activities. This is not only supporting WLC's mission, it is also showing a personal commitment to the organization's learners.

I will remain a life-long supporter of WLC. I want to encourage others to visit WLC to see and hear first-hand the impact of the organization's work. It is time we all make a difference to empower and help others achieve their goals. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have made a difference in someone's life.
