Jamilah joined The Washington Literacy Center in September of 2021, as an Instructor for the JumpStart 2 Success program. Before WLC, she worked for seven+ years in Workforce Development at DC Central Kitchen, where she held many titles working specifically with the Culinary Job Training Program. There she assisted adults facing high barriers to employment for careers in the food services industry. She is very committed to continuing herwork with WLC and is very excited to contribute her talents and proficiency in career development to help adult learners achieve their desired goals.

Jamilah was born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She has earned a Bachelor of Human Ecology degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Business Administration. She also earned Leadership Certification from the Princeton Alumni Corps Emerging Leaders Program.
