Jayant “Jay” Kairam is a seasoned corporate affairs, sustainability and social impact leader who has successfully driven innovative and inclusive campaigns and programmatic initiatives for some of the largest companies, environmental NGOs and governments across the US. Jay is currently Vice President, Society (ESG) for Diageo North America where he leads a team that executes social responsibility programs and oversees charitable giving and stakeholder partnerships that advance Diageo’s reputation and commitment to safety, consumer choice and well-being, community, and sustainability. Prior to Diageo, Jay led global environmental policy and strategy for Walmart. Before moving to the private sector, Jay served as a Senior Advisor and Deputy Commissioner in the Bloomberg Administration and has held senior roles at the Environmental Defense Fund, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and National Association of Counties. He is a graduate of Vassar College and the Harvard Kennedy School and is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer. Jay sits on the boards of the Anacostia Watershed Society, Washington Literacy Center, Fuse Corps and is an advisor to Patch, a climate tech firm. He lives in Washington DC with his wife and daughter.
