Adrian Jordan

Adrian Jordan is a seasoned healthcare executive and civic leader with nearly two decades of experience driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and health equity across public and private sectors. As President of Wellpoint DC (formerly Amerigroup), a subsidiary of Elevance Health, Adrian leads one of the District’s largest Medicaid managed care organizations, overseeing business development, financial performance, and community partnerships that serve thousands of vulnerable residents. Under his leadership, Wellpoint DC secured a multi-year Medicaid contract and contributed nearly $1 million to local nonprofits focused on literacy, housing stability, and youth empowerment. A proud native of Washington, D.C. and graduate of Florida A&M University, Adrian’s commitment to underserved communities is deeply personal. He has served as a policy advisor to the D.C. Council, a candidate for the D.C. State Board of Education, and a published advocate for literacy and economic mobility in Wards 7 and 8. His thought leadership has appeared in regional publications, where he champions the intersection of education, health, and opportunity.

Adrian’s career is defined by his ability to build cross-sector coalitions, influence policy, and deliver measurable outcomes. He is or has served as a member of the Ward 5 Democrats Executive Committee, an elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, and a Board Trustee for Two Rivers Public Charter School. He also partners with institutions like the University of the District of Columbia to expand workforce development and digital access for local students.

He is the 2025 recipient of the Vincent C. Gray Health Equity Award for his work in the health innovation space and holds a master’s in health administration from Catholic University.
